Domestic Cleaning - what we offer to you and your home

We provide only vetted and reference checked domestic cleaners. This allows us to give you a reliable and professional home cleaning service at a reasonable price.

Typical Weekly Rates from £10.70 per hour.

Our promise to you:

  • We identity check ALL house cleaners, including a residence check
  • We interview ALL cleaners in their own home
  • We take up REFERENCES on ALL cleaners on your behalf
  • You meet and approve your cleaner before they start cleaning your house

Regular Weekly Home Cleaning Service:

When we meet you we can advise on how long it will take to clean your house, taking into account how you like it to be cleaned. That's the beauty of the way we work - we appreciate that not all homes are the same - the same shoe doesn't fit all clients! We will also take into account your budget and work out the best possible plan for you.

Regular Fortnightly Home Cleaning Service:

This is similar to the weekly service, but not exactly the same. Whereas with weekly you might expect the whole house to be cleaned from top to bottom, with fortnightly cleaning some jobs might be put on a different schedule. Your cleaner will help you decide what's best for you and your home according to what your priorities are.

Spring Cleans:

Imagine coming home to a house that has been cleaned from top to bottom!

We do offer Spring Cleaning, but only to our regular clients. This might, for example, take the form of a thorough deep clean of your house once a year - possibly even in the Spring, but not necessarily! You will arrange this directly with your cleaner - we do not even need to even be involved. In other words, spring cleaning is less per hour than your normal regular cleaning. We think this is a major benefit of the Cleanhome way of doing things.

Note: Most of our clients prefer to use their own cleaning products and vacuum cleaner as this ensures that there isn't cross contamination from other peoples homes - for example dog hairs on the vacuum cleaners roller - and also ensures that their house is cleaned with products they like. If you would prefer for the cleaner to provide the cleaning products please discuss and agree this with the cleaner when you talk through your requirements with them (the cleaner will probably charge extra for providing the products).

COVID-19: 5th November Update

Just to let you know we are open for business as usual and you can continue to have your cleaner clean your house.

The government has made it clear that cleaners are still permitted to work inside peoples' homes as long as Government Guidelines on social distancing and staying safe are followed.  In summary:

You can be outside of your home for work purposes where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home, including if your job involves working in other people’s homes.

The full text can be found here New National Restrictions from 5 November (in England; there are similar texts available for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Specifically relating to cleaners, the guidance continues: 'This guidance applies to those working in, visiting or delivering to home environments. These include, but are not limited to, people working in the following areas:

  •  in home workers - such as repair services, fitters, meter readers, plumbers, cleaners, cooks, visiting childcare providers, and surveyors (this is not an exhaustive list)'

The full text can be found here What do we mean by 'working in other people's homes'?

This is dependent on the following social distancing guidelines being followed:

  1. No work should be carried out in a household where people are isolating or where an individual is being shielded.
  2. The cleaners can continue work, providing that they are well and have no symptoms. No work should be carried out by a cleaner who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild, or when someone in their own household has symptoms.
  3. No work should be carried out in a household where any occupants have any symptoms of Coronavirus
  4. Whilst in the house. a cleaner should maintain a safe distance of at least two metres from any household occupant at all times, and ensure good ventilation in the area where they are working, including opening the window.
  5. Upon entering the home, cleaners should wash their hands using soap and water for 20 seconds.
  6. Cleaners should wash their hands regularly, particularly after blowing their nose, sneezing or coughing, and when leaving the property.

The good news with regard to cleaning is that the cleaners can social distance from their clients very easily, and we would advise that, if you are at home when they are there, that you remain in a separate room to your cleaner.

Best regards

The Cleanhome Team
